IR/INFO 2018 Provides a Hot Time in New Orleans
Burlington, NJ January 30, 2018 — Infraspection Institute’s IR/INFO Conference was recently held in New Orleans, LA. IR/INFO 2018 marks the 29th anniversary of the advanced training conference, technical symposium and technology expo. IR/INFO was attended by infrared thermographers, PdM technologists, and building inspection professionals from around the world who enjoyed four days of networking, learning, and fun in a relaxed and professional atmosphere.
Jim Seffrin, Director of Infraspection Institute, states, “We were very pleased with this year’s IR/INFO conference. With 5 short courses, hands-on workshops, and 23 technical presentations, this year’s conference covered a broad array of infrared applications, new equipment and technologies, thermal imaging via drones, home and building inspections, safety, and current legal issues. We thank our exhibitors, our speakers and all who attended and helped to make this year’s conference one of our best ever.”
Co-sponsored by United Infrared and Temperatures.com, this year’s conference also featured the latest in infrared imagers and software from several manufacturers. Sunday evening’s Welcome Reception and Mardi Gras party featured plenty of local fare. After dinner, Skip Handlin provided a local perspective on the significance of Mardi Gras and helped to make certain that all guests left with some much-coveted choice beads.
Another highlight of the conference occurred on Tuesday evening when guests were treated to a cocktail reception sponsored by the IRINFO Group. Several door prizes were provided including thermal imagers donated by FLIR Systems, Inc., Diamond Technical Surveys, and Fotric Precision Instruments. Following the reception, several attendees strolled to the French Quarter to enjoy local cuisine at the city’s famed restaurants. Attendees visited well-known attractions including Preservation Hall, Jackson Square, Café Du Monde, and several of the nightclubs along Bourbon Street.
A veteran of past IR/INFO conferences, Joe Sayer said: “For me, the IR/INFO Conference is second to none in terms of content and presentations that clearly touch on the pulse of existing and emerging IR technologies.”
First-time attendee David Bailey had this to say about his first IR/INFO experience: “Fantastic presentations and short courses! The amount of experience and knowledge that was here was amazing. Everyone was extremely helpful. I will be back next year!.”
George Ferguson was equally impressed summing up first IR/INFO Conference as follows: “Infraspection’s great staff made me feel comfortable and welcome. The amount of experience and knowledge that was here was amazing. Everyone was extremely helpful. I will be back next year!.”
Cary Meyer summed up his experience as follows: “This conference is a must-attend event for all thermographers.”
Jim Seffrin concludes: “Plans for Infraspection’s next IR/INFO event are already well underway. IR/INFO 2019 will be held once again at the Hyatt Centric French Quarter, in New Orleans, LA January 20 – 23, 2019. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for another fun-filled and informative event.”
