Omega is now ThermoVision® Micron

Goleta, CA – Indigo Systems, a division of FLIR Systems, announces a name change of its miniature uncooled camera to ThermoVision Micron (formerly Omega). ThermoVision Micron is the world’s smallest, lightest, lowest power, fully integrated infrared (IR) camera.

In addition, the single unit camera price has been reduced by 25%. The lower pricing is intended to make the camera more affordable to prospective OEM integrators that want to evaluate ThermoVision Micron for use in their IR applications. The price reduction is scaled to higher volumes of cameras as well. Two previously optional pay-for features — digital data and highlight color — are now included in the base camera price.

ThermoVision Micron is a Commercially Developed, Military Qualified (CDMQ) product, as evidenced by its use — in production volumes — as the IR payload camera for the U.S. Army’s Raven and the USMC’s Dragon Eye unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems. Indigo is in full-scale production of the ThermoVision Micron camera, and has established itself as a critical, “go-to” supplier of miniature IR cameras for tactical (small) UAVs used by the U.S. military.
