Thermal Imaging Finds Success in Industrial Automation
L-3 Communications Infrared Products to discuss thermal imaging
technology at National Manufacturing Week in Chicago
Dallas. March 8, 2005. Robert Kienlen, Regional Sales Director for L-3 Communications Infrared Products, will present, “Thermal Imaging Successes in Manufacturing Quality,” at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9 at National Manufacturing Week in Chicago. The conference, attended by business managers and professionals in the manufacturing industry, is an annual event that showcases the latest products and technology to effectively and efficiently manage plant operations.
Kienlen’s presentation will discuss thermal imaging technology as a tool that supplements the human eye or existing vision methods in manufacturing to identify problems during the inspection process and integrate with new or existing systems to set off an alarm or identify damaged or poor quality products. Thermal imaging technology in addition to or instead of traditional technologies in machine vision allows engineering, inspectors and managers to see things they otherwise would miss.
“Thermal imaging has evolved to become much smaller and more cost effective,” said L-3 Communications Infrared Products President Chris Bade. “National Manufacturing Week is an ideal venue to highlight the power of this technology and discuss its application as an integral part of many successful operations.”
Kienlen has been involved with military and commercial infrared technology for more than 30 years, with companies such as Vought Aerospace, Varo, Texas Instruments and Raytheon. He has worked extensively with both cooled and uncooled thermal imaging technologies, domestically and internationally. Kienlen is responsible for industrial market efforts with L-3 Communications Infrared Products, and is also a Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast U.S.
