Electrophysics® Introduces Titanium™

Date: May 18, 2007

For challenging infrared applications conducted under harsh field conditions and where open optics selection is vital, users can turn to Electrophysics and its high-performance Titanium family of infrared (IR) cameras. The ultimate solution for infrared imaging applications, including tracking, target signature, research and development, and imaging spectroscopy, the Titanium is designed specifically to meet the needs of the most demanding users of infrared imaging technology. Combining unmatched speed and sensitivity in a rugged design.

Titanium family

The Titanium 520M and 550M utilize an ultra-sensitive, 320×256 InSb focal plane array sensor with 3 to 5µm spectral response while the 520BB is a broadband variant with 1.5 to 5.1µm spectral response. The HD 560M features a 640×512 InSb array with best in class 15µm pixel pitch and high data rates. The Titanium 530L incorporates a 320×240 an MCT focal plane array with 7.7 to 9.5µm response and is one of the only commercially available high quantum efficiency long wave infrared camera in the world.

All Titanium models deliver sensitivity better than 20mK, while keeping an extraordinary 14 bit dynamic range and high linearity across the entire spectral range. The camera has flexible M-80 optic mount for the full range of CEDIP lenses and Electrophysics custom developed lenses.

Users can also take advantage of Titanium’s ultra-fast, full format programmable frame rates. All models offer users defined sub-windowing modes. The Titanium 550M can output up to 380 full frames per second and up to 20 KHz utilizing sub-windowing. The cameras also can incorporate an optional internal filter wheel that accepts 25mm OD x1mm filters for viewing sub-spectral ranges.

Revolutionary Radiometry and Image Processing

Truly plug-and-play, the Titanium series of high-performance IR cameras are among the most user-friendly imaging systems available for advanced infrared imaging applications and feature Gigabit Ethernet as well as optional Camera LINK™ digital output.

The Titanium 520M incorporates HyperCal™ and CNUC™ the latest technology in radiometry and flat field correction. Gone are the days of limited and complicated radiometric calibrations with labor intensive setup. HyperCal and CNUC allow the user to dynamically change integration times while maintaining full uniformity as well as accurate full field radiometric calibration.

The Altair™ Image Processing Suite expands the functionality of the Titanium products. Altair allows extensive, yet user friendly, image and sequence capture, playback, and data reduction. Altair modules include Calibration File Manager, Recomposer, Recorder Trigger, and more.

”When dealing with demanding infrared applications, users should never compromise performance or precision.” said Chris Alicandro, Director of Sales-Infrared Products for Electrophysics. “With multiple models offering flexibility in spectral response, detector resolution, and interconnectivity options, there is a Titanium system for every demanding application. These customers finally now have choices when it comes to selecting a high performance thermal imaging system.” concluded Alicandro.
