United Infrared (UI) announces the launch of its newest application module: EquineIR™. EquineIR™ (www.equineir.com) is a network of infrared thermographers performing infrared scans of horses to detect potential injuries and other health issues. Before infrared thermography (IRt), Veterinarians could only locate problems using traditional methods such as observation and palpation. Now, by using EquineIR™ thermography techniques, abnormalities present themselves even before damage occurs.

This methodology has been developed and refined over the past twenty‐five years and has been proven to be an effective imaging technique for: pre‐purchase, hoof balancing, saddle fit, track footing, pre‐race, joint inflammation, and general diagnostics uses. Since animals cannot speak, it has been difficult for caretakers to truly identify hidden or masked conditions. Now with infrared thermal imaging, many of these physiological and anatomical issues are exposed at a much earlier stage. Early detection equals early prevention. Anatomical imaging such as x‐ray, cannot detect soft tissue conditions. Physiological imaging such as infrared imaging has the ability to recognize soft tissue conditions, and also areas that are indicative of anatomical issues.

EquineIR™ has partnered with the Equine Thermal Imaging Institute (ETII), whose management is made up of two licensed Veterinarians, a seasoned trainer and a world‐class farrier, with a combined experience of over 130 years. ETII will provide technical direction on the training courses and expert interpretations through the InterpretIR.com Network which aligns EquineIR™ Certified Technicians (ECTs) with Veterinarians specializing in infrared thermography of horses to create detailed, graphic medical evaluations.

“EquineIR™ is a service whose time has come and for which there is an eager market. EquineIR™ provides horse owners, trainers and Veterinarians with an inexpensive means of determining problems before they become debilitating to the horse. And, because we are a national network of trained local contractors, the service is standardized, affordable and high quality,” states Peter Hopkins, Vice President of United Infrared. “ETII will provide a Veterinarian and Veterinarian Technician at every EquineIR™ course with ongoing mentorship beyond the class”, concludes Mr. Hopkins.

“IntrepretIR™ moves the information quickly and seamlessly through the process from data collection in the field by the thermographer, to the expert medical analysis by the Vets ‐ creating a standardized expert report to the client”, says Greg Stockton, of United Infrared, Inc.

United Infrared, Inc. provides applications‐specific resource systems for contractors of infrared thermographic services. United Infrared, Inc. is a North Carolina Corporation created to help contractors add infrared technologies to their businesses. UI is owned by Greg Stockton the Founder of Stockton Infrared Thermographic Services, Inc. and Peter Hopkins, the Owner & President of InspecDoc Inspection Services, Inc. ‐ the parent company of SoCal Infrared. UI is comprised of a selection of service modules contractors can purchase to help start up a new business or supplement a current business. When a contractor joins the network, they receive training resources as well as discounts on infrared equipment available only to network members. For each module, there is a complete set of marketing strategies, training, report templates, applicable legal documents and network considerations. UI currently offers two other application modules: EnergyScanIR™ and BlockWallScanIR™ . Two other modules ‐ RoofScanIR and MoistureScanIR are currently being developed for release by the end of 2009.
