IR/INFO 2020 – An Event to Remember!
Burlington, NJ – January 31, 2020 — Infraspection Institute’s IR/INFO Conference was held earlier this month in San Antonio, TX. 2020 marks the 31st anniversary for the advanced training conference, technical symposium and technology expo. IR/INFO was attended by infrared thermographers, PdM and CBM technologists, and building inspection professionals from around the world who enjoyed four days of networking, learning, and fun in a relaxed and professional atmosphere.
Jim Seffrin, Director of Infraspection Institute, states, “We are very pleased with this year’s IR/INFO conference. With 5 short courses, hands-on workshops, and 18 technical presentations, our conference covered a broad array of infrared applications, new equipment and technologies, thermal imaging via airborne platforms, roof and building inspections, safety, and current legal issues. We thank our exhibitors, our speakers, and all who attended and helped to celebrate the 31st anniversary of our IR/INFO conference.”
On display in the Technology Showcase were the latest in infrared hardware and software, IR windows, condition based monitoring tools, safety equipment, and offerings by a host of service providers. Sunday evening’s Welcome Reception featured plenty of local fare and a chance for attendees to relax and network.
Another highlight of the conference occurred on Tuesday evening when guests were treated to a cocktail reception sponsored by the IRINFO Group. Entertainment was provided by a local mariachi band specializing in a modern take on traditional Mexican music. Following the reception, attendees strolled the famous San Antonio Riverwalk to enjoy local cuisine at the city’s acclaimed restaurants and enjoyed the evening light show at the San Fernando Cathedral.
One of the many benefits enjoyed by IR/INFO attendees was the opportunity to share knowledge and information ‘across the aisle’ with some of the world’s most experienced professionals.
First time attendee Ryan Bliss had this to say about his IR/INFO experience: “This conference enhanced my knowledge and understanding of infrared and other inspection methodologies. It also proved to be a good place to make industry contacts.” A veteran of several IR/INFO conferences, Brad Gilbertson added, “IR/INFO is the best place for networking with practicing thermographers and a great place for ideas and creative thinking about infrared.”
Amy Hyams summed up her experience as follows: “No matter your thermography experience level, this conference offers quality content that is immediately applicable. It is a conference we will make a point to never miss.”
Jim Seffrin concluded: “Plans for Infraspection’s next IR/INFO event have already begun. IR/INFO 2021 will be held at the Rosen Plaza in Orlando, FL from January 17 – 20, 2021. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year for another fun-filled and informative event.”
