FLIR Systems Awarded Contract to Secure Houston Airports

PORTLAND, OR–(MARKET WIRE) FLIR Systems, Inc. (NasdaqNM:FLIR – News) announced today that it has received a contract to provide 14 thermal imaging cameras for use at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport and William P. Hobby Airport as part of a comprehensive video security system that protects more than 30 miles of perimeter at the two airports.

FLIR will provide ThermoVision Sentry II® and ThermoVision Integration Series® cameras to be integrated with the airports’ video processing and radar surveillance systems. FLIR’s thermal imaging cameras will provide video coverage in areas where ground-based radar is obstructed by buildings or other objects, and be linked to a geospatial map interface to provide high resolution infrared imagery to aid in the assessment of perimeter intrusion.
